Off to an early start the Avalanche ended the first period with a 2-0 lead. Letting the Blue Jackets find the net in the second the third period started off with a 3-3 tie, but the Avalanche weren't ready to give up yet. Three goals in the third would give them a 6-3 win over Columbus.
