Altitude to broadcast Avalanche game on KTVD local Channel 20 on Thursday, Nov. 7
DENVER—Today, Altitude TV announced that on Thursday, Nov. 7, it will broadcast the Colorado Avalanche game vs. the Nashville Predators on local KTVD (Chan. 20). Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.
“Altitude Sports would like to thank KTVD for providing coverage of this game,” said KSE EVP/COO Matt Hutchings. “Comcast and DISH Network customers remain unable to watch the Avs, since those two companies continue to refuse to televise games. Altitude also thanks DIRECTV for resuming their coverage the network, along with companies such as CenturyLink for their continued loyalty and support of Denver’s great sports fans”.
Altitude Sports and DIRECTV reached an agreement on Thursday, Oct. 31, to broadcast Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rapids and Colorado Mammoth games throughout a ten-state region.
Altitude Sports continues to try to negotiate with both Comcast and DISH Network, who have dropped Altitude from their lineups. Altitude’s contracts with Comcast and DISH Network expired at the end of August, and although Altitude has attempted negotiations with both carriers to enter into new agreements on the same terms and conditions under which each of them has carried Altitude for the past 15 years, both Comcast and DISH Networks have opted to drop Altitude. “Avs fans once again have the opportunity to watch Avalanche games on DIRECTV for the sixteenth consecutive season,” said Hutchings. “It’s a shame that Comcast and DISH Network continue to prevent fans from watching their hometown teams. Their voices continue to be ignored by these carriers. We wanted to broadcast this game on KTVD 20 to reach out to those fans.”
This game will also be carried on DIRECTV. Altitude Sports would like to thank DIRECTV for working with the network to broadcast this game on a local station. Altitude would encourage those fans who continue to be blacked out by Comcast and DISH Network to consider switching providers.
